PersonalAwareness/SocialChange

Discussion focuses on the relationship between social change and personal change. Does change start with each one of us, or can it be facilitated by social catalysts?

Ok. A decade or 2 ago, I was really into proscribing social change along a clear political agenda that combined Marxist and cultural feminism. In hindsight, I judged others, and maintained that only a few visions of equality, and a few ways to establish equality were 'right'. Today, I have mellowed and focus more on inner awareness and enhanced interpersonal relationships. I attribute this to my great appreciation for post-structuralism, and quite frankly, exhaustion. What do you think? Is individual growth and development a viable means to social change? Or, in focusing on this have I just opted out of social membership and ignored my social responsibilty to others?
